The funny things you google

When you're a writer you find yourself googling some really weird stuff. In the past 6 months my google search has had everything from other words for cock to sex positions when pregnant. There has been other stuff as well and it makes me wonder. If anyone was to look at your google search history what the hell would they think? I am pretty sure the first thought they had wouldn't be, oh this person is a writer.

If I was someone looking at my search history, I would be deeply worried. Especially for my research for book two, as that is a little darker than this one, so as you would expect the google searches are darker.

If the cops come knocking I am not sure that but I'm writing a book would cover it!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Bloggers, I hope you all had a fantastic day and that Santa brought you everything you asked for. Along with health, happiness and family joy!

I have to say the book editing has come to a bit of a stop at the moment, dad went into hospital on Friday night and my head has been filled with other stuff, but he's on the mend now. Although being with out him today has been really difficult, we saw him this morning but it just wasn't the same!

You really don't realise what you have until its gone, he is coming home for the New Year we believe so I am hoping , that I can now focus on getting the book fully edited. Well up to what Craig has given me back. He tells me that he has almost done the full edit.  So 2013 the book will be out!!! So exicting

The never ending task on editing

makes you feel like this

But last night i did edit a further 20 odd pages, granted i should have been typing up my college assignment. But its Christmas and I need to treat myself to editing instead. I have changed loads, some my own ideas and others have been suggested by my good friend and proof reader Craig. I think its better already, I can't wait for you guys to read it and to get feedback from everyone. 2013 is going to be a really exciting year and I cannot wait to share with you all!

So if I don't get to update the blog again before Christmas, have a good one and I hope Santa brings you everything you asked for. Be safe and be happy.

Not a normal post

On average I wouldn't usually blog about this, but I feel I have to! As you can see on my blogger page,i have a media player which plays a lot of lostprophets songs. After recent news revelations about the lead singer of the band. I wanted to say that I will not remove the video's from my blog and I will not accept anyone slagging the band off. For me its innocent until proven guilty, I know online its guilty until proven innocent. As a band they inspired me to write this book and I have many happy memories from going to gigs and meeting fellow fans, who I consider good friends.
People will make comment and I know they will but lostprophets fans are struggling with this news and it should be respected by the haters that its a lot to take in for us. So if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it!

Continuing to edit

<p>I have a theory that editing is the work of the devil! I have done the first 30 pages and i am about 10 pages into the second 30. This week my aim is to get those 20 pages done, before Craig decides to give me another 30 to moan about.
Lots of changes do far all for the better, its good to have your mate proof for you its a more natural process.
Still undecided on the way i want to publish, still attracted by kindle but its a two book publication. So i can hardly leave one as an e book and have the other in print.  Too many choices right now!

The blog hop

thanks to Craig Hallam he tagged me in this Blog hop, which is great seem as I know exactly no one to pass it on to!

Here’s how it works:
If I tag you, use this format for your post
. Include an introduction to your interview post and a link to the person who tagged you for participation.
Answer the ten questions about your current WIP (Work In Progress). Include some pictures if possible.
Tag five other writers/bloggers by sending them an email and then add their links to the end of your interview post. Their answers should go up the week after. The blog post should be labelled:
The Next Big Thing Blog Hop.
Easy? Ok, enough technical stuff…on with the questions!
1. What's the title of your book?

Can't Catch tomorrow

2.Where did the idea come from for the book?

I dreamt it, I have really vivid dreams and if they are worth remember I usually start to write them as stories. I would love to have some classic story of a love lost and what not, but no it was a dream about a bloke in a band I find sexy as hell.

3. What genre does your book fall under?

Erotica, chick lit, Romantica I don't know any of those three. Its like fifty shades without the flogger, chains, wipes and getting beaten.

4. What actors would you chose to play the characters in a movie rendition?

Richard Armitage he's older than my character but he looks good for 41 and I am sure he wouldn't argue to play at 30 year old.

Jonas Armstrong

Emun Elliot

To play Jas i think it would be Samantha Barks. Jenna I'd like Jessica Brown Findlay. Mason to be played by Tom Hardy. It would be truly British film. There is so much good acting talent in the UK and that's why i would keep it on these shores.

5. What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?
Jas has been in love with one man for years, but picked Mr wrong, will he step up and be Mr right?

6. Will it be self published or represented by an agency?

That is the big question, I'm really unsure I might give kindle a bit of a go

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

5 years, yep I am terrible I dip in out stories that need to be written. I have about 6 on the go

8. What other books would you compare this book to in its genre?

Well I have already mentioned 50 shades, but it will be better written and it doesn't have a flogger anywhere in sight. I call it a modern bodice ripper, maybe its an Ann Summers corset ripper who knows!

9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?

It was the dream, if it wasn't for the dream and the gig I went too this book would never have been written

10. What else about your book might pique readers interest in reading it?

There's a story and real characters as well as lots of sex! I think girls and guys could read it.

Thanks for this Craig, I will find someone to pass it on to

First edit done and dusted

Yay *dancing around my bedroom* Last night at 2.35am Can't catch tomorrow hit the realms of being finished after 5 years in the pipe line!
Now it just has to go through the joys and woes of proof reading and editing, then I can decide whether or not find a publisher or self publish on kindle. I like a book personally, you can't beat the smell of a good book. I guess I am just old fashioned like that! Not disrespecting e readers, I own one and love it a lot- but it will never replace the joy of a real book for me.
Now on to the second book, seem as I cut a huge chunk from the first, it seems rude not to use it somewhere, at the moment the I am stuck between two names for books 2 it will either be another shot or you and me

I know how I am going to finish the book!

That's the first thing, it came to me in a dream and we are almost there, which means the stuff i have cut means book too is almost written as well, bonus!!!
So excited its nearly done, its taken me almost 5 years to write this book, what with writers block, course work and I can't be arsed moods. But almost there and its mainly down to the support of my awesome mate Craig Hallam, who's books you should also check out. His link to wordpress is on this blog.

Secondly no I don't look like an erotic fiction writer and thankfully none of them look like Katie Price, usually they are plus 40 age wise and i can state right now, i am not close to 40, apparently I look about 23 so I will take that as a compliment, in my aging years of 29.

I don't look like an erotic fiction writer

What exactly does an erotic fiction writer look like? Other than not me, obviously.
Hi by the way, I am tempting writing this and hoping the guy who said it doesn't read this.  He could seem as this posts to twitter, so best not make him uncomfortable.
Apparently I look like i go to church once a week and get easily offended, pretty sure neither of those are compliments. At least i have learnt i must dress like a religious nut and must also come across as up tight.
Why do people find it so shocking I write erotica? Everyone is the same, when i say it. Its not written from personal experience, I wish it was! Its fiction its starts in my head and finishes on the page.
There's no bondage, sadism, spanking or use of floggers. Just a modern take of a bodice ripper, if you like.
Anyway I am off to find out what those who write erotic fiction look like. I hope they don't all look llike Katie Price!

continued attempt to get this book done!

This is pretty much what i have been like since I last wrote to the blog.  Also I have just started a teaching course, which seems to have home work every night! But I so want to get this book finished, its taken up a good five years of my life. I need to let it go but its like a security blanket and I am afraid to let it go!
I have sat here for the past 7 days looking at my hand written notes, trying to work out what to cut and reasoning why I don't need it to more than just how many pages I have. It feels never ending but your continued support makes it worth while!

Hi guys

So I have finished the first edit! You probably heard me screaming with joy in Australia, now is on with the difficult task finishing the book. Where exactly do you finish a book? I am finding this difficult at the moment, anyone who could shed some light on it, I would be forever grateful!
The struggle could be that there is a book 2 and I have that fully written in my little head, originally you see Can't Catch tomorrow was going to be about a million pages long. Then I woke up in the real world and decided to split the books. So now is the debate how to end the first one. I might crash it out with my proof reader see where the ending should be, and if in fact I can include something that seem outlawed by most book publishers. Such a difficult task! But onwards and upwards, have a world day of writing ahead of me tomorrow, so stick by me and I will keep you posted!

Editing

I have been so lazy on the editing front! I wanted to have at least 120 pages, but in fact struggling on getting to 80 pages! Facebook games offer to many distractions. But I have my play list on right now and the lostprophets are helping me focus, hopefully next blog update I will have hit 100 pages!

About Me

Hi guys

I am Rachael, but I go by the name Leah for writing! The bright ones among you will probably work out how I come to call myself Leah Car.

So I am a writer, I have done it since I was about 12 but never been brave enough to believe in what I produce. But now with my friends encouragement, I am in the first edit stages of my book! I want to take you through the process and up to the stages of getting the book out there to the public, that's YOU!!!!

At the moment I am aiming for Ebook publishing through Kindle but you never know I might go the whole way and actually produce a real book, one that has pages that you can turn and that smell nice!

Like, join, follow and tell your mates. If you love EL James books then you will love mine!
